What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website, used to make the site work, remember your preferences, or understand how the site is used.
Categories of Cookies Kempian Uses
Kempian groups cookies and similar technologies into four categories:
| Category | Purpose | Example |
| Essential | Required for the website and Platform to function — account login, security, session management. Cannot be switched off. | session/authentication cookie — vendor to be confirmed |
| Functional | Remember user preferences and settings to improve usability. | preference cookie — vendor to be confirmed |
| Analytics | Help Kempian understand how the site and Platform are used, to improve performance and design. | analytics provider — vendor to be confirmed |
| Marketing | Support advertising and measurement of marketing communications. | marketing/advertising provider — vendor to be confirmed |
Essential cookies are always active because the Platform cannot function properly without them. The remaining categories are used only where you've consented, as required by applicable law.
How Consent Is Captured and Changed
Where required by law, Kempian presents a cookie consent mechanism when you first visit the website or Platform, allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookie categories (functional, analytics, and marketing) before they are set. You can change your preferences at any time through the cookie settings link available on the website. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly through browser settings, and you can set your browser to notify you when a cookie is placed. Blocking essential cookies may affect the Platform's core functionality, including your ability to log in and stay signed in.
How Long Cookies Persist
Cookie duration varies by category and specific cookie, ranging from session-only (deleted when you close your browser) to longer-lived cookies that persist for a set period. specific cookie retention periods — to be confirmed.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on Kempian's website and Platform are placed by third-party service providers — for example, analytics or marketing vendors — rather than by Kempian directly. These third parties may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy and cookie practices. Full detail on the third-party vendors Kempian uses, including analytics and marketing providers, is set out in the Subprocessor List.
How This Policy Relates to the Privacy Policy
This Cookie Policy expands on the cookie and tracking-technology summary in the Privacy Policy. Where this Policy addresses cookies specifically, it governs. The Privacy Policy governs all other aspects of how Kempian collects, uses, and protects personal data.
Changes to This Policy
Kempian may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies used on the website and Platform, or in applicable law. Material changes will be notified through the website or by other reasonable means before they take effect. The most recent revision date is shown in the footer below.
